Welcome to the Caledonian Environment Centre
Caledonian Environment Centre was re-launched
on 31st May 2005. Previously known as the Caledonian Shanks Centre
for Waste Management, the Centre has been running since 1998. Caledonian
Environment Centre is part of Glasgow Caledonian University's School
of the Built and Natural Environment. The Centre offers a dedicated
team of professionals with expertise in a varied range of environmental
disciplines including waste management, sustainability, environmental
management and education. The Centre also incorporates the Sustainability Centre.
The Centre has the advantage of being able to couple
sound academic knowledge with responsive, practical expertise, enabling
it to carry out valuable consultancy and research in order to provide
accurate and up to date information to clients, helping it to become
one of the most distinguished and recognised environmental organisations
in Scotland.
Zero Waste Scotland partnership at Futuresource 2009
Scotland’s leading players in the field of sustainable waste management recently joined forces at this year’s CIWM Futuresource conference under the banner of 'Zero Waste Scotland'. Representatives from Scottish Government, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Scottish local authorities, Waste Aware Scotland, WRAP Scotland, Remade Scotland and Scotland’s economic development agencies were on hand to meet delegates at a dedicated Zero Waste Scotland exhibition area.
