Departments

All teaching and research within the school is carried out within the three complementary academic departments:

  • Dept. of Biological & Biomedical Sciences

    We are one of the major providers in Central Scotland of Biomedical Sciences programmes that are recognised by the main Professional bodies for state registration. The department also has a thriving research culture, which has lead to a host of spin-out products and services.

  • Dept. of Psychology

    We offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including the popular Forensic Psychology. The department also has an active research background in the areas of Health Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Applied Social Psychology and Forensic Psychology.

  • Dept. of Vision Sciences

    We are the only department of its kind in Scotland, and the only one to offer undergraduate degrees in Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing. The department offers students access to the latest facilities, including our state-of-the-art Eye Clinic.
